Barangay Padang was used to be home for at least 500 people back in 2005.But then, tragedy struck…When Typhoon Reming hit the Bicol area back in November 2006, flood waters hit this small barangay leaving almost everyone homeless and several people missing.
Currently, Barangay Padang is like a ghost town by the side of Albay’s national highway. The only thing that serves as a reminder of what it used to be is the Memorial that was put up for the lives lost in the typhoon.

The Daraga church was built during the 18th century in the town of Daraga, which means Maiden, after the eruption of Mayon Volcano, which sent the Cagsawa Church along with the whole Cagsawa town below ground level. The Daraga Church is situated on top of a hill where it has a commanding view of the Mayon Volcano and the sea. The church, despite the modifications & repair works over its lifetime and the rapid development in the establishments in the town of Daraga, still maintains its original baroque architecture.
